The weeks to come

Sat Jan 13, 2007, 8:32 PM
I probably won't update as often, or maybe I will, since I'm going to be doing an independent contract for class this quarter. Mostly I'll be writing 50 pages or more of material on my free time instead of poetry, though it'll be poetic and heavy form laden. Thought I'd note the fact, since it'll be awhile.

  • Listening to: Explosions in the Sky
  • Reading: Barthes, Saussure, Jameson, Patchen
  • Watching: Heroes, BSG, Bleach
  • Playing: Company of Heroes
  • Eating: junk food & ramen & noodleforms
  • Drinking: chilled tap water

We will be missing you, look forward to your safe return.

gracias

not like I ever leave the internet for that long, but it's a good way to trick myself into not writing anything that isn't for class, heh.

Ah, Explosions in the Sky. Amazon keeps reccomending them to me, but i've not had a chance to listen to 'em really. Suggestions?

Uncertain as the fingering of a chord torn prematurely, from a piano's womb!

Listen to "Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever" if you want a good idea as to how good they are. They're basically just guitars, played in such a way to be reminiscent of piano, or so I think. Overall they're a bit like ambient rock music, but with some really stirring sound to it.

If you like instrumental and you like rock, you might enjoy em.
